Who I Am
When I was young, I thought as many do, that I was going to change the world. As a child that conviction was a strong desire, even though it wasn’t clear to me how I would accomplish it. What I didn’t yet understand was that I had it slightly wrong.
The change we’re each here to make isn’t outside of ourselves but inside.
I spent decades learning that the hard way. Adopted from Korea at nearly four years old, raised in a complicated home, I left at the age of 17 carrying the weight of an abusive childhood, low self-worth, anger, depression, and the persistent feeling of being lost and alone. I had no roadmap and no guide. All I had was a deep inner knowing that my life was meant to be about more than just suffering.
So I became a student and began diligently studying myself. What followed was a 30-year journey toward emotional health, unraveling old patterns, healing wounds that sometimes I didn’t even know I was carrying, and slowly, eventually learning to know and trust myself. Though I began that journey feeling lost, lonely and confused, after several painful relationships, a divorce and life repeatedly bringing me to my knees, my path eventually led me here. To this work. To you. Because my journey toward healing was so long and winding, I came to know it intimately, and that knowledge is what I use to assist you in your healing journey.
Nowadays I am a single mother to 2 homeschooled boys and 2 dogs. We live peaceful happy lives full of love, laughter, balance and support, so very different from what I grew up in. I was able to break familial cycles and I’m so appreciative to happily live the proof of all that hard work every day.
I now understand that my purpose was never to change the world from the outside. It was to find my own emotional health and self-empowerment and to help others do the same. Because when we do that inner work, when we heal, grow and step into who we were always meant to be, we become the change and automatically influence the world in a positive way just by the very fact of being alive. That’s how the world actually shifts, one person, one life, one awakening at a time.
I’m here to support that process.
